How to change the hostname?

Dependent on your window version you find the dialog as follows:

In the System properties Dialog select 1 Computer Name. If you need to change it, press 2 Change.

The Change dialogs 3 will be opened and you can change it.

Attention:
Do not use any special character for the hostname! This may lead to problems.


How to change the IP address?

Dependent on your window version you find the dialog as follows:

Select the needed adapter 1 and press the 2 properties button there.

Select the entry   'Internet protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and press the  'properties' button 3.

Afterwards the following additional dialog will be opened.

If you don't have an DHCP server in you network, or if you need a dedicated setup (e.g. for the liveticker PC) you should select the 'Use the following' 1.

Afterwards 2 fill in the values:
  • 'Address' something like 192.168.2.X,
  • 'Netmask' 255.255.255.0
If you want to have internet access, fill in the gateway address, otherwise leaf the field empty.

If you have a DHCP server, choose the automatic address (this is the default).

If you are using static/manual method please write down the address. In case of manual configuration, take care of the following restrictions:


Attention:
If your PC has multiple network connections, only one connection shall have a Gateway!


How to configure the extended Desktop?

You need to connect the additional monitor (data projector) first.

Dependent on your window version you find the dialog as follows:

Click on the second screen and active 'extend desktop'

Press Apply and close the dialog.
